E’ con particolare sgomento che proponiamo questo volo speciale su Kiev.
Non vuole essere condanna politica su chi ha ragione o chi ha torto, non vuole essere nessun tipo di giudizio o presa di posizione.
Certamente però si ritorna indietro di 80 anni, sembra di riviere l’agitazione dei nostri nonni che con gli occhi lucidi ci raccontavano la seconda guerra mondiale.
Siamo ancora sbigottiti dalla pandemia (che vedevamo come evento lontano presente solo nei film catastrofici) ed eccoci ricadere in un incubo peggiore che sembrava sconfitto dalla buona volontà dei potenti.
E’ proprio la parola “guerra” che vogliamo contestare, indipendentemente dalle ragioni o da interessi economici che evidentemente sono superiori alla vita umana.
Noi Simmers possiamo fare poco, come tutti i cittadini del mondo, l’unica possibilità è di fare un volo insieme per essere presenti virtualmente.
Non servirà a nulla, ma questo possiamo e desideriamo fare.

It is with particular dismay that we propose this special flight over Kiev.

Certainly, however, we go back 80 years, it seems to relive the agitation of our grandparents who told us about the Second World War with shining eyes.
We are still stunned by the pandemic (which we saw as a distant event present only in catastrophic films) and here we are falling back into a worse nightmare that seemed defeated by the good will of the powerful.
It is precisely the word “war” that we want to contest, regardless of the reasons or economic interests that are evidently superior to human life.
We Simmers can do little, like all citizens of the world, the only possibility is to fly together to be virtually present.
It won’t help, but this is what we can and want to do.
